It’s not news that mercury is unsafe. Although this metal was once used in medications, we now know that if ingested, inhaled, or absorbed through the skin in large enough doses, it can cause mercury poisoning. This could lead to symptoms like headache, insomnia, weakness, tremors, vision impairment, and with high enough exposure, kidney malfunction, neurological malfunction, respiratory failure, and even death.

When it malfunctions, it could start overproducing (hyperthyroidism) or underproducing (hypothyroidism) needed hormones, resulting in a slew of unwanted side effects and threatening your health.

When it comes to Children’s Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), the federal government has granted each state the ability to create their own programs, albeit within the parameters established by federal guidelines.
Both services provide no-cost or very low-cost health insurance for eligible applicants throughout the Lone Star State. To date, both programs have provided medical coverage to over 4 million Texans, comprising nearly half of the state’s children.

Employee Appreciation Day is not necessarily the most popular US holiday, but the Medico M.D. team thinks it’s pretty important. In 1995, Bob Nelson and his fellow board members of Recognition Professional International decided that no business could run without every member of the team, and there should be a celebration to recognize every employee. Bosses already had a day, and it was time to celebrate the daily achievements of people at every level of an organization. Since then, the first Friday in March has been celebrated as Employee Appreciation Day in the US. In 2018, the US will celebrate this holiday on March 2nd, but we’re no longer on our own. Canada recognizes and celebrates this holiday, and there are more nations every year recognizing employee accomplishments and hard work on Employee Appreciation Day.
