Smile Makeover - Implants / Veneers
What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are THE new standard in restorative dentistry. Historically, dentists have used different treatments like flippers, dentures, and bridges to restore missing/damaged teeth, but these methods never fully return the tooth to a natural state. With implants, patients can finally receive replacement teeth that fit, feel, and function exactly like real, natural teeth.
Why Should I Get Implants?
When people think of implants, they usually think of a solution for restoring teeth cosmetically. While implants are definitely a great option to give you a Hollywood-ready smile, they also come with significant health benefits as well! People with various health conditions, such as periodontal (gum) disease, diabetes, and even depression, have noticed significant quality of life increases with dental implants. Why? Because damaged or missing teeth can affect your gums, bones, confidence, and general wellness.
Whether you are searching for a cosmetic solution or overall improve health, dental implants are sure to be a great solution!
How Does The Process Work?
Dental implants come in three different parts:
1) The implant is a screw that is permanently attached to the jaw, acting as the tooth root.
2) The abutment is the connector that supports the tooth or set of teeth attached to the implant.
3) The crown is the prosthetic tooth that is visible and functional, exactly like a normal tooth.
At Medico M.D., we offer several different types of implants to ensure every patient can achieve their desired goal, whether that be smiling, chewing, or laughing with confidence, or even repairing permanent damage from periodontal disease. Check out some of our options to see what may be the best solution for your specific situation:
Full Mouth Implants
Are you missing several teeth? Unhappy with your smile? Full mouth dental implants can be done very easily (and affordably!) with All-on-4 implants, where a full-arch fixed implant bridge is mounted to just 4 implants. This is a great treatment option for patients who are looking to restore their upper or lower bridge, or even both bridges for a full, complete smile makeover!
Are you missing a few teeth, but still have healthy gums and surrounding teeth? Multiple implants include 2 implants that mount a partial-arch fixed implant bridge consisting of 2 or more crowns. Multiple implants are not for everybody, and even if a patient is only missing a few teeth, All-on-4 implants may be a better and cheaper alternative to multiple implants.
Are you only missing a single teeth, or do you have several missing teeth in different areas? Single-tooth implants are a great option for restoring your smile and ability to chew. Your new tooth will look and function just like all of your natural teeth. Nobody will ever know that you are missing teeth, and you will be able to laugh and live in comfort and confidence!
What Are Dental Veneers?
Dental veneers are very popular right now, and for good reason! While implants are a great option for restoring missing teeth, veneers are a great option for restoring other imperfections like stains and misaligned, broken, or cracked teeth. If you’ve ever seen a celebrity with a perfect smile, they likely have veneers!
Why Should I Get Veneers?
Dental veneers are thin sheets of porcelain or a resin composite that are permanently bonded to the surface of existing teeth. They are great at fixing several cosmetic issues, including brightening discolored teeth, hiding breaks or cracks in teeth, resizing teeth, and aligning slightly crooked teeth without the use of orthodontics. Because they don’t require any oral surgery like implants, they generally don’t take nearly as long to complete. We will send impressions to the lab to make your custom-fitting veneers, then we will permanently bond them to the teeth to give you a lifelong beautiful smile!
